About Me

Before you further explore my site, let me introduce myself!

My name is Roy Saad and I’m a senior undergraduate business student at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and finally it’s my last semester. Hopefully I’m planning to land a job in management consulting as it is a dream job of mine. One of the reasons I want to be a consultant is that I would have the opportunity to work on high impact projects and grow as an individual. In fact, this experience would allow me to get exposure to a wide range of industries and topics. This will give me a chance to learn much quicker than if I am working in a defined industry and it is something that I am really excited about.

I’m also planning hopefully in the future to complete my Master in Business Administration (MBA) at a prestigious University.

As for now, I am taking a digital humanities course ENGL 256D – Doing Digital Humanities. In this course, we will be setting the ground for a digital humanities project about orientalism, covering what western writers, poets, artists, travelers, journals, and others have said about the orient.

Having taken ENGL 256B (Introduction to Digital Humanities) previously with Dr. Najla Jarkas, where I have been introduced to several concepts, tools, and techniques of Digital Humanities such as Timeline JS, Voyant Tools, Palladio, and Google Maps. I am planning to utilize the tools learned in my previous course in order to maximize my input and come up with the best suitable textual analysis.

Wish me luck and I hope you enjoy this journey with me! So Stay Tuned!
